| RULES
OF THE CONTEST
A) Who can be a contestant?
The contest is open to individual initiatives or initiatives
emanating from private or public organizations, will they
be sponsors, producers or designers of the contestant web
site. The content has to be related to defence, conservation
or renewal of cultural and/or artistic heritage.
B) Contestant categories:
The contestants will present their web site in one of the
following categories
- State sponsored museum
- Privately sponsored museum
- Historical monument fund or equivalent
- Local or territorial collectivity
- Public institution
- Cultural or artistic non profitable organisation
- Cultural or artistic foundation
- Original initiative
C) The two themes:
The themes of the Internet sites presented to the contest
must be
- Defence, conservation or renewal of the cultural and/or
artistic heritage: They will show in particular the techniques
or the knowledge of the candidate.
- Didactic exhibition approach: They will show and will
explain a period, a specific art school, a place or several
related places.
Nota Bene: as in every contest, a candidate presenting
a web site out of the subject above will be disqualified.
D) The special mention:
The thematic prizes, awarding the best ways to present a problematic
and its proximity dimension will be distinguished from the
special mentions awarding a specific way of treatment of the
following subjects
- Educational sites
- Pedagogical sites
- Community sites
E) The analyses process:
The analyse process for the selection of the Internet sites
will be the following
- Ergonomics
- Technical realisation
- Collaborations and partnerships
- Link policy
- Linguistic accessibility (access in several languages
or to blind persons)
Nota Bene: The content of the deliberation will
remain confidential. The decision of the jury is supreme.
The Grand Jury remains free to refuse to grant an award in
a category if the numbers of candidates or if the general
quality of the presented web sites are insufficient.
F) The process of the contest:
On-line contest (Internet user's Prize):
After he subscribes and after this subscription has been
validated, any web user will be invited, country by country,
to vote for the most remarkable, the most useful or the most
efficient proposition. The voter will have to justify his
choice using sound arguments. The voter will designate three
candidates by country for the first, the second and the third
place.
Nota Bene: In order to be able to participate in
the "Internet User's Prize" as a jury member, every
web user that would have subscribe will receive by mail or
e-mail, a personal code that will be absolutely necessary
to express one's vote.
Off-line contest (Special mention):
The Grand Jury of the Internet Fiesta is an international
group of project managers, graphic designers and professionals
of the conservation of heritage, artistic managers and specialised
journalists, all of them being expatriated. They will evaluate
accessibility, eventual scenario, graphics, music, navigation,
creativity and originality. The Grand Jury will be assisted
by a selection of non professional expatriated web users.
Nota Bene: In order to be able to participate in
the "Prize of the Internauts" as a jury member,
every web user that would have subscribe will receive by mail
or e-mail, a personal code that will be absolutely necessary
to express one's vote.
Awards granting:
The awards will be given during a gala organised in Paris.
It will provide the event with a larger notoriety and a better
media coverage which will give the awarded contestants an
increased visibility enlarging the impact of the prize.
