Do you whish to take an
active part within the Virtual Planetary Exhibition?
Do you think you have the knowledge, the experience,
the convictions and the enthusiasm it takes? Then, join us. We invite
you to be a part of the network of human networks: The Weavers.
Despite the infamous world globalisation, most of the business
mater is still treated locally in order to satisfy the specific
needs of people attached to their regional identity. It thwarts
partially the anonymity generated by the world uniformity while
it is preserving the so called cultural exceptions.
The only way one can be open to alien cultures it to know one's
own cultural heritage. Thus it becomes possible to organise a cultural
cohabitation, that is to say, to insure a minimum mutual comprehension.
We are all part of a very rich world culture. We wish to valorise
it's plurality without incite to any form of ostracism nor to a
sterile disorder and without establishing some kind of identity
competition. Preserving such a plurality along with permeability
within our global culture is more than ever a matter of "a
culture which we do not inherit but which we have to conquer",
to quote André Malraux.
If you see the World Wide Web as a really transversal tool to be
used to shorten distances between the miscellaneous actors of the
networks, you have all it takes to be accepted as a member, more
likely an associate; of the kind we call a Weaver.
What must you do?
No adhesion fee whatsoever or any kinds of donation are demanded.
Deserving the title of Weaver takes only to be enthusiastic, to
use the World Wide Web and to give a hand to the development of
interactive communication.
But above all: To be a Weaver means to favour international exchanges
and the circulation of cultures. It demand also to mobilise and
incite others to participate in the preparation of the Virtual Planetary
Exhibition by all means of action and communication and to promote
and support, within their own networks, ideas or multi-disciplinary
events destined to rich a wider audience in order to lead a larger
amount of persons to the new technologies of information and their
applications.
